Quantum Gate Library

Gates are the building blocks of quantum circuits. Below, the Interactive Bloch Spheres show the state vector after applying the gate to the |0⟩ state (or |+⟩ for Z-gate). Drag to rotate 360°!

Hadamard Gate

Output: |+⟩

Creates a superposition state. Maps basis state $|0\rangle$ to $\frac{|0\rangle + |1\rangle}{\sqrt{2}}$ (along +X axis).

Matrix Logic

$$ \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}} \begin{bmatrix} 1 & 1 \\ 1 & -1 \end{bmatrix} $$

Pauli-X Gate

bit_flip / NOT

Output: |1⟩

The quantum NOT gate. Flips state $|0\rangle$ (North Pole) to $|1\rangle$ (South Pole). Rotation of $\pi$ around X-axis.

CNOT Gate

entanglement / CX

Target Qubit (if Control=1)

Flips the target qubit (shown above) ONLY if the control qubit is $|1\rangle$. Essential for entanglement.

Pauli-Z Gate

phase_flip

Input |+⟩ -> Output |-⟩

Phase Flip. Leaves $|0\rangle$ unchanged but maps $|1\rangle$ to $-|1\rangle$. Rotates around Z-axis.
